My preview of today's YILLMOO (Y It Looks Like Mon Oncle Oscar) Awards, formerly known as the WILLMUO (Why, It Looks Like My Uncle Oscar) awards.

This year with the benefit of cinema-going and streaming, I have probably seen more Oscar nominations before the award ceremonies than in the past.

My choices in each category where I feel confident to have an opinion, plus in most cases my prediction of who is likely to win.

Best Original Screenplay (seen 5/5):

Expecting to win: All Quiet On The Western Front (although Living, which is the one I haven't seen, sounds a strong prospect)

Best Documentary Feature (seen 1/5):
Navalny is the only nominee in this category I have seen (it's on SBS On Demand) and geopolitics being what they are it is the favourite to win

* The one nominated movie in the Best Picture category that I haven't seen is Avatar Way Of Water
